Scattergun

Privacy policy

The privacy of your data — and it is your data, not ours! — is a big deal to us. In this policy, we lay out: what data we collect and why; how your data is handled; and your rights to your data. We promise we never sell your data: never have, never will.

This policy applies to Scattergun, which is built and maintained by Radioactive Toy Ltd ("The Company").

Data we collect

Our guiding principle is to collect only what we need. We only ask for the personal information required to provide our service. All personal data is transparently collected with your consent using fair and lawful means.

How your data is used

We only retain collected information for as long as necessary to provide you with your requested service. The data we store, we’ll protect within commercially acceptable means to prevent loss and theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification.

Your rights

You are free to refuse our request for your personal information, with the understanding that we may be unable to provide you with some of your desired services. You can request that we delete or update your data at any time.

When we access or share your information

We don’t share any personally identifying information publicly or with third-parties, except when required to by law.

Our default practice is to not access your information. The only times we’ll ever access or share your info are:

  • To provide products or services you've requested.
  • To help you troubleshoot or squash a software bug, with your permission. If at any point we need to access your account to help you with a Support case, we will ask for your consent before proceeding.
  • To investigate, prevent, or take action regarding restricted uses. Accessing a customer’s account when investigating potential abuse is a measure of last resort. We have an obligation to protect the privacy and safety of both our customers and the people reporting issues to us. We do our best to balance those responsibilities throughout the process. If we do discover you are using our products for a restricted purpose, we will report the incident to the appropriate authorities.
  • When required under applicable law.

Email Subscribers

We collect an email address and name from people who subscribe to a Scattergun mailing list. No other information is collected. We will never use this email address for any purpose other than to deliver emails sent to the subscribed list. We will never sell or disclose this email address to a third party.

Owners of a mailing list are able to export their subscriber list from Scattergun. The Company is not responsible for protecting the privacy of subscribers' email addresses once they have been exported out of our system.

Every email contains an unsubscribe link that can be used to unsubscribe from the list with one click. Email addresses remain on our systems even after unsubscribing so please contact support if you'd like us to delete all your information.

Subprocessors

We use third party subprocessors, such as cloud computing providers and error reporting software, to run Scattergun. We establish GDPR-compliant data processing agreements with each subprocessor, extending GDPR safeguards everywhere personal data is processed.

How we secure your data

All data is encrypted via SSL/TLS when transmitted from our servers to your browser. Data is not encrypted while it lives in our database (since it needs to be ready to send to you when you need it).

Your consent

By using Scattergun, you consent to this privacy policy and agree to the terms.

Changes & questions

We may update this policy as needed to comply with relevant regulations and reflect any new practices.

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about this privacy policy, your data, or your rights with respect to your information, contact us: support@scattergun.email.
